Criminals and virus distributors have evolved significantly in recent years. Operators, once different groups or individuals, have now become very sophisticated and organized.
Cyber security experts suggest the situation is not expected to improve. Some of them also say that we are at “gold viruspot” and that the year 2022 will be the worst so far.
According to ENISA (The European Union's Cyber Security Agency), virus attacks increased by 150 percent between April 2020 and July 2021.
One of the biggest factors that has contributed to the increase in the frequency of attacks is the gaining of money. In a large number of cases, cybercriminals managed to undo millions of dollars from individual attacks.
Cybersecurity researchers point out that hackers will go so far as to steal money from organizations through a subscription model where criminals will be paid to prevent you from being attacked.
