The pressures of the Kosovo Olympic Committee and the Kosovo Box Federation at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Boxing Federation (AIBA) have begun to produce the first effects.
The International Olympic Committee through a statement issued in Israeli media and published in various world media has issued the first threat to Serbia. The IOC has threatened the Serbian state with its failure to organise major events, if the discrimination of Kosovo athletes continues.
All of this comes after the discrimination of our boxers in the month of October this year, who were denied entry into this state and participation in the World Boxing Championship, organised in Belgrade.
In a letter provided by “Post”, The IOC, along with the world of boxing, has mentioned the canceled world of “quash” previously held in Malaysia, the country that refused to give visas to Israel's athletes.
The IOC has said it will work with the Malaysia and Serbian Olympic Committees to find solutions with relevant governments, and that if this is not achieved, these countries would exclude themselves from the right to organise international sports events until necessary guarantees” are taken and respected.
On the other hand, IOC directors have asked international federations to be extremely vigilant when granting the right to organise international sports events, as the participation of all athletes from the host country must be guaranteed in advance.
Since the discrimination of our boxers from Serbia, KOK and FBoxK, they have been in constant contact with the IOC and AIBA, from which they have sought more rigorous measures against the state of Serbia and at the same time compensation for the loss of our boxers with non-participation in the world.
Next year, right in Belgrade, the World Mnetric and Athletics Championship will be held, where our opportunities and athletes have warned the turnout.
