FSHF leaders have reached agreement with Iberian counterparts to develop the prestigious duel against Louis Enrice's team.
The meeting will be held in Spain on March 26, 2022, while a decision has not yet been made for the stadium.
This will be the first friendly match between these two representatives, which so far have played against each other seven challenges, all valid for European and world championship qualifications. Albania has held two matches with Spain, within the qualifications of the 1988 European Championship.
The first match took place in our country at the “Qemal Stafa” stadium on December 3, 1986, and was won by the Spaniards with a narrow score of 1-2. The only goal for the redsight was marked by Shkel Mucha. While in the second match in Spain on November 18, 1987, Albania was beaten by figures 5-0.
Meanwhile, the third challenge, valid for European Championship qualifying 1992, took place in Spain on December 19, 1990, which ended 9-0 in favour of the Spaniards.
The other 4 challenges have all developed under the qualifying framework for the World Championships, 1994 World Championships and the 2018 World Championships, respectively, where Albania has failed to win either.
The March next year's Duel will be a good opportunity for coach Eddy Reja to try schemes and football players for the June confrontations in Nations League, where we are part of Group 2 of the national League of B like Russia, Israel and Iceland.
