Researchers have found that the Himalayan glacier is melting 10 times faster than before 2000.
This ice melting may affect hundreds of millions of people living along the main rivers of Asia.
The Himalayan ranges store the world's third largest amount of ice after Antarctica and the Arctic, also known as the “third”polo.
The author of the final study is Dr. Simon Cook, a lecturer in geography and environmental science at the University of Dundee, Scotland.
“This study is just the final confirmation that these changes are taking place at great speed and will have an extremely important impact on regions of”, Cook said.
