Greenell wished Hovenier for his confirmation as an ambassador, through a tweet.
Otherwise, Houvenier is a career diplomat of American foreign service who has been part of the United Nations Special Envoy's staff for the status of Kosovo.
In June 2018, former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci had decorated the diplomat Hovenier with the Jubilar Presidential Medal of Independence.
Your and US support for all political processes has been determining for Kosovo's freedom and independence. We'll be forever grateful”, Thaci world said.
While the US diplomat, Jeffrey Havenier, had declared that the American stance has always been in favour of Kosovo's freedom and independence.
“I will always be a friend of Kosovo”, Havenier said.
