Gliha talks about future and draw with Greece

Kosovo wrapped up an extremely depressing qualifying campaign for the 2022 World Cup with a draw of 1:1 to Greece in its latest group match Sunday, Express newspaper reports.

We should be happy with the outcome because we could win the match but we could lose. Football is dramatic. In the first half, we didn't spend much energy because the game is over. We had to keep our energy and focus to do something. I don't usually reason, but we had a shortage like Maderj street, Dresevich, Bytyqi. For Kosovo these are significant shortages. I told the players we should accept this situation and do our best. I told them I wanted to win this fight, but we didn't get the point of”, Gliha said.

Gliha took over the course of the northerners temporarily after the dismissal of Bernard Callandes in October and debuted with losses in the friendly to Jordan on Wednesday.

It is believed that he was temporarily appointed until finding a new coach, but Gliha refused to say that when asked about the future in Kosovo's bench.

“I feel good in Kosovo, but it is up to the mayor to decide for the future. As for qualifications, we were not lucky on one side. There are victories and losses in football. But it makes the difference to focus and sacrifice of players in the field. There are many other elements”, Gliha added.

Spain won Group A by collecting 19 points and qualified directly after defeating Sweden 1:0, which will play play-off as second in the group with 15 points.
