Manchester United's temporary coach, Michael Carrick, has shown that he left Cristian Ronaldon on the bench against Chelsea because he wanted to change things from previous matches.
Carrick decided to leave the Portuguese Superstar reserve at the Friday meeting against Chelsea, who is currently taking place in London.
He selected Marcus Rasford, Jadon Sanchon, and Bruno Fernandes to direct the attack on London's blues.
Speaking a little before the match, Carrick told Sky Sports: “Some changes from last game, to change things a little bit. Cristiano's probably our best player, but that's just the game plan. I had a good conversation with Cristiano, actually, he's okay and we decided to play this game today”
“It is a decision simply to choose the team, to be honest, there is no need for more drama”, he added.
This is the first time the winner of the Golden Ball has been placed on the bench this season.
On October 3rd, then coach Ole Gunnar Solsquier left the Ronaldon reserve in a match against Everton.
Ronaldo was given 33 minutes at that meeting, but he was unable to prevent the draw of 1:1.
