Mavys Alvarez, a Cuban woman who was in connection with the late footballer Diego Maradona two decades ago, claims that the Argentinean player raped her when she was a teenager and stole her childhood.
Alvarez, now 37, witnessed last week in a Court of the Ministry of Justice of Argentina, which is investigating her allegations of trafficking against the former Marado representatives, about events she was 16 years old.
Maradona, estimated one of the best players in history, died in November last year.
Alvarez claims to have been raped by Maradona when he traveled to Argentina with a football star in 2001, when he was 40 and 16.
Alvarez said he had first met Maradona just before the trip, when he was in Cuba to be marked by addiction to drugs.
She claims Maradona was raped in the Havana clinic where he was staying while her mother was in the other room.
He covered my mouth, raped me. I don't want to think about it much, Alvarez said.
I lost my daughter. They stole all my innocence. It's hard. From then on, she no longer experiences the innocent things that a girl of that age experiences, she added.
Matias Mortla, Maradon's lawyer before his death, has not responded to the request for comment. Reuters news agency has not been able to identify other legal representatives for Maradona in this case.
