COMEBOL condemns the judge who did not expel Othamen behind this brutal elbow in Raphael

The South American Football Confederate (CONMEBOL) has suspended Uruguayian Judge Andres Cunha and Judge's video Assist, Esteban Ostojic for serious error in the Argentina qualifying for the World Cup vs. Brazil.

The decision is linked to the incident where Argentina's Nicolas Othamendi brutally stabbed Raphael's face during the first part of Tuesday's match in San Juan, which ended with a brutal elbow on his face.

The sting left Raphael of Leeds in need of five stitches after the first half, broadcast Periscope.

In a video published by COMEBOL on Wednesday, Ostojic can be heard telling Cunhas he considers intervention for yellow card.

Despite this recommendation, Cunha decided not to punish Othamend, also dealt no punishment at the expense of Benfida's quarterback.

“The performance of the archarbiter, Andres Ismail Cunha Soca Vargas, and Esteban Daniel Ostojich Vega... was technically analysed by [the arbitrator's community], which concluded that they made serious and visible mistakes in their duty,” said in the CONMEBOL communiqué.

It is said that Otallmen had “at risk of physical integrity” of Leeds United player, adding that both match officials were suspended “indefinitely”.

The Brazilian Football Confederacy said on Wednesday evening that it would file formal complaints to FIFA with the request to be punished by Othandini. /Periscope. com/
