According to page “Down Detector”, problems started at about 12 and 50 and so far nearly 14,000 complaints have been filed, the Daily Mail writes.
It is reported that the app is working on several phones, but other users are having difficulty opening the account and sending photographs.
The app leaders themselves acknowledged the existence of this problem, writing on Twitter: “We are aware that some users are having problems right now using the app, hold on, we see. ”
Some users expressed their anger on Twitter. Everybody's going on Twitter to see if Snapchat's down. ”
Cybers expert Jake Moore said it is unlikely that problems were caused by a cyberattack, but warned that using a centralised system could cause widespread problems for social networks.
