By dawn, they take their way to city centres throughout Kosovo. Underages, lonely and on other occasions in adult society, seek charity. But in common all these cases, it is that the same could be possible victims of trafficking.
To prevent such activities, Kosovo Police have implemented an operational plan this week, which resulted in 23 suspects. All this action took place from October 25th to the day before.
During this action, the identification of 18 alms-seekers, of them 11 Kosovo citizens and 7 from Albania, was made.
This whole plan has been developed in co-ordination with the Social Works Centers. More importantly, the cases of children seeking charity are in Pristina municipality.
So Blerim Shaban of the Centre for Social Work tells of the number of cases of this nature, which have identified in the capital.
He says they're taking steps to convince citizens not to give alms.
For the implementation of this operational plan, police officials have been assisted and supported by Prosecutors in the respective regions, the Centre for Social Work, the Directorate for Migration and Foreign Affairs, Border Police and Police Stations.
