The athlete, who had qualified for the last round scheduled for tomorrow in Kitakyushu, has been diagnosed with damage to the central spinal cord and injuries in the cervical column.
This is the result of the MRI magnetic resonance, according to what the Japanese Gymnastics Association reports.
The 21-year-old girl, who also participated in the 2020 Tokyo Games, is in stable condition under the care of doctors and her coach, Yukiko.
On Thursday she will undergo further testing. According to those who witnessed the fall, Hatakeda struck her face as she tried a Komova (an element from the low beam to the high asymmetrical parallel, hitting her beard firmly on the floor.
