President Sarachini's letter to EHF, following events in Banja Luka
Immediately, the Kosovo Handball Federation's reaction to anti-Albanian insults in the match played Sunday in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the middle of Banjaluka's Borac team, and Besa Family from Peja.
FHK President Eugen Sarachini on Monday has been addressed with a letter to the European Handball Federation, where he has expressed FHK's concern over the events held in Banjaluka.
In President Sarachin's letter, writes:
Kosovo's “HandballFederate sharply condemns the nationalist behaviour of the Borac Handball Club fans from Banjalluka, shown in the match with Besa Fagas, on Sunday in Banja Luka.
In the match between RK Borac and KH Besa Fagas, whose organisation was low-level, had low and nationalist expressions that should not appear in the European handball sport. “Vrite, kill Albanians”, “Kosovo is Serbia”, “Vrini, for Albanians not to exist”, were just some of the cheers by hundreds of local fans.
The Kosovo Handball Federation is also deeply indignant by the conduct of delegates and judges, who at no time reacted to these behaviours, though the delegate knows Serbian language very well. The team players were also involved in these events.
Lovers of handball, such behavior must be severely punished by all in the European handball family. Such behavior is nothing more than hooliganism and a dangerous inspiration to handball in general.
The EHF must take immediate measures to stop these behaviours and not find support from the leaders of Serbian clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. The EHF should be ready to punish any participants in these events, including the host of the match, but also European delegates and judges, who have not reacted at any moment.
I hope this never happens again. /Periscopi/
