This implies that the Dardans were unable to participate in the World Boxing Championship, which is being held in Belgrade.
The issue has made a big fuss everywhere as Kosovo athletes continue to be wronged.
Even today, the European Commission has reacted, which has called for depoliticising sports, after Serbia denied Kosovo participation in the Boxing World.
European Commission spokesman Peter Stano has said the “Kosovo Box Fund should not be treated differently from the delegations of other member Federations. Kosovo should be allowed to participate in the base and to equal it”.
Days ago German Ambassador to Kosovo Jörn Rohde wrote on Twitter that “politicisation of sports has never been a good idea”, the Express reports.
The two representatives spoke of the need for cultural and athletic exchange in order to promote international co-operation among countries, but chose not to specifically condemn Serbia for its decision to stop the Kosovo team.
Serbian authorities initially refused to let Kosovo athletes enter their territory with state symbols.
Later, the team was barred from entering Serbia even after the removal of uniforms.
On Saturday, the International Box Federation issued a communiqué, writing that “expects the Kosovo Box Federation delegation not to be treated differently by delegations of other AIBA members”.
Albania's national team also threatened to withdraw from global participation if Kosovo is not allowed to participate.
