The World Boxing Championship officially opened on Sunday, October 24th, in Belgrade.
Kosovo definitely does not participate in this organisation, due to the failure of Serbian authorities to allow athletes to enter Serbia's territory with state symbols.
However, although the Federation of Boxes of Albania has warned that it will withdraw from the race because of Kosovo, this has not happened, as a result of the pressures made by the Albanian Government and the International Box Federation (AIBA).
We are told that in the event of non-participation, we will be sanctioned by ten years of non-participation in any other international AIBA activity, Free Europe, the captain of the Albanian Box Federation team Nelson Hysa, told Radio.
He added that during the official opening of the championship, the moment of the parade of athletes from Albania with the state flag has been conveyed with whistles and shootings of various items.
We're totally out of our minds, we have constant pressure. When I went out on Albania's flag, there were cheering, whistling, shooting. Last night, Serbia's police stayed at the hotel because of our security, Hysa said.
