The protest was organised because of the failure to solve the problem with electricity supplies, which arose with several power cuts or the only one phase in downtown Gracanica.
Serbian media, “Alo”, questions whether “Albanians are deliberately destroying the electricity supply of Serbs”.
Locals reported the collapse of Kosovo's distribution and power supply company (KEDS) on daily bases, however, as they note, teams took to the ground several times, replaced the safety that was soon burned and the situation returned as before, writes “Alo”, broadcast the Express.
This is the 12th day without electricity, it's impossible to live in such conditions. That was not even in the 19th century. We believe this call will reach authorities in KED and that they will employ additional staff to repair the defect as soon as possible”, one of the protesters said.
The Gracanica municipality also tried to resolve the problem with electricity for locals, however, as Public Services Director Vladica Trajkovic earlier said in this municipality, by KEDS, have still received no answer about when the problem will be eliminated.
