Spain is one of the countries expected to be hit by a second wave of Coronavirus. These cases will reportedly postpone Barcelona's presidential election, scheduled earlier on January 24th 2021, broadcast the Sport Signal.
These were the first elections to be held in the club since Josep Bartholomew's extraordinary victory in 2016.
Victor Font and Joan Laporta will face-to-face to what is probably the biggest event in Barcelona for more than half a decade. Font even spoke of the AS in this regard, saying: “ - What?We need to advance elections through a letter, but nobody did anything. Now we're in a disturbing state of health. What is clear is that elections cannot be held now on 24 January. ”
He seemed very realistic with his response despite being one of the main candidates for the presidential post. Font added further by saying, “With current restrictions, vote right cannot be guaranteed for all societies.”
However, it seems that the two, and especially Barcelona fans, may have to wait for a while, depending on the confirmation by Barcelona and the Catalan government.
