The technical director Edu said: “on behalf of Mikel, our trainers, players and all at the club, I would like to thank the Pope (Socratis) for his contribution to Club”.

The Greek defenders joined The Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in July 2018 and made 69 presentations. He was part of the FA Cup winning team in August and played 12 matches during the League of Europe in 2019.
