Melih Bulu é, who was a candidate for MP from Erdogan's party AKP, was appointed directory to Bogazici University by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by a presidential decree.

Police blocked roads around campus in preparation for the third day of the protests.

The student slogans were “Melih, step down” and “AK get your hands off our university”.
At least 24 students have been arrested.
