Arian Vranica, an official of this association in an interview, said that the state of gastronomy sector is quite disturbing, in which 89% of businesses have been working with deep losses.
“The state of the gastronomy sector so far is quite disturbing, according to reports and research carried out by the Kosovo Gastronomous Association we have 89% of businesses that have been working on deep losses by October 2020, where 11% of them have been the only ones who can have a kind of retability”, Vranica said.
According to him, if this situation continued and only 2% of them could survive without help and 13% of them would go bankrupt.
Vranica, among other things, also showed publication of some data, where more than 64% have declined.
“Consisting public data we've had more than 64% decline, and this is quite challenging for us, especially in view of the non-support with fiscal policies and then we have the Economic Regeneration Pack that lasted more than 5 months”, Vranica said.
He said it is not necessary to continue with the same measures, as the number of infection has dropped markedly.
“The number of infection has dropped markedly, these do not constitute any more reason to continue with the same measures, but we need to be more constructive towards the release of measures and overcoming this crisis with as little consequences”, Vranica said.
He even points out that there was nothing concrete, and the government has not received any answers.
Asked about their demands and the possibility of any protest, Vranica said their demands would not stop.
Our requests will not be stopped, pressure will now increase even with the vaccination of most of the EU countries, we need to have positive answers and as soon as the budgetary damage Law” gets into effect, he stressed.
Based on their statistics, they found that more than 42% of the businesses that have reported having fired workers.
