The Association of Historians, Decan branch, reproves American Ambassador Philip Costnet

The League of Kosovo Historians “Ali Hadri” The Decan branch has reacted after statements by the US ambassador regarding the Decani Monastery, saying that the Constitutional Antilegal decision on private property and properties of “Apico” and “Iila” illegal and unconstitutionally thanks to the Decani Monastery, so that it [...]
The US Ambassador to Kosovo “has to understand that the unconstitutional and anti-religious decision by the Constitutional Court of May 2016 is made on the basis of the decisions of the time of Milosevic's violent measures in the 1990-1999 period, decisions that have been proclaimed by the UN administration in Kosovo, and as such is the unacceptable and irresistibly case”, said in response.
Furthermore, Decani historians say Ambassador Philip Costnet and other ambassadors accredited in Pristina should understand the two-faced Igumen game of the Decani Monastery, which is one of the main architects of the war of Kosovo citizenship.
He, as a very dangerous person, has done much harm to the Republic of Kosovo with his malicious commitments. The leaders of the Decani Monastery, before seeking property at the expense of the citizens of Decani, should apologise for the genocide committed by the Serbian church, people and state against Kosovo Albanians. I demand that the Decani Community and the Kosovo Cadastarle Agency not implement the Kosovo Constitutional Court's unconstitutional and anti-legal ruling, because with its implementation, Milosevqi's laws are implemented in Kosovo. The “Apico” and “Iliaria”, should declare Kosovo's national fortune. Any attempt to break through the Decani Monastery is the wrong and unacceptable act”, the reaction of the Kosovo Historians League “Ali Hadri” branch in Decan concludes.
US Ambassador to Pristina Philip Costett declared today that disobedience to rule of law by certain governments led by different Kosovo parties questions the country's commitment to equal justice. He wrote in a Facebook post that such an example is the case of ownership of the Decani Monastery.
The Constitutional Court in 2016 ruled that the Decani Monastery is known for its ownership of 24 hectares of land. Officials of international institutions in Kosovo have consistently called for the Constitutional decision to be respected.
In 2008, Kosovo's Assembly adopted the Law on Special Protection Areas, which should ensure the protection of Serbian Orthodox monasteries, churches, other religious sites, as well as historical and cultural sites of special importance to the Serb community and other communities in Kosovo. Decani Monastery is one of the protected areas under this law.
