A 12-year-old is hoping to win the legal battle against the popular TikTok app, claiming the company is illegally using children's data.
A court has ruled that the girl may remain unanimous if the case goes ahead. The action is being supported by Anne Longfield, the Children's Commissioner for England. She believes TikTok has broken Great Britain and EU data protection laws.
TikTok has said that there are strong <x0 selector” to protect children and does not allow anyone younger than 13 years to register. Longfield hopes that the case will lead to greater protection measures for minors using TikTok in England.
