His appearances in the 2018/19 season, when his team went up to the semifinals of the Leging Champions, caught the attention of top European clubs.
While Beek will be willing to play against Crystal Palace this weekend, he has not played a competition game with the club for six months.
And this, perhaps, was seen in last night's confronting the Netherlands against Italy in the League of Nations.
Some fans are convinced he donated terrible presentations before being replaced after 57 minutes of play in Holland's 1-0 defeat.
In the first half, he completed only two passes. Until it was replaced, he sent the total to only five passes.
