““Denial for Revenge against Navid Afkari, Hasan Turkman's killer, took place this morning at Adelabad Prison in Chiraz”, state television quoted Kazem Mousavi, head of the Justice Department in the southern province of Fars, as saying.
The case in question had caused quite a stir throughout the world, until even American President Donald Trump had demanded that Afkar be executed.
Afkar was reportedly tortured and forced to make a false confession while in prison.
Meanwhile, the judge of this case in Iran has denied charges of torture against the wrestling champion.
Also, the World Sports Union, representing 85 thousand athletes, had called days earlier for Afkar not to be executed while demanding that Iran be expelled from the sports world in case of executing the 27-year-old opportunity.
We remember that days earlier Donald Trump had also called for the execution of Afkar.
