Thaci: Albania-Kosovo Basketball League, a multiyear-old dream

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, commenting on the signing of the co-operation agreement for the establishment of the Albania-Kosovo Unicball League, has said it is a natural and long-awaited step.
Otherwise, the agreement on co-operation for the establishment of the Albanian-Kosovo Unic League of Basketball has been signed in Tirana.
The agreement was signed by the heads of relevant basketball federations of Kosovo and Albania, Arben Fetah, chairman of the Kosovo Basketball Federation, respectively, Avni Pontari, chairman of the Albanian Basketball Federation.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Albanian Republic of Albania Prime Minister Edi Rama, Kosovo Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Vlora Dumoi, Albanian Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Besa Sahini, Kosovo Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Valdete Bajrami and FIBA Chairman Turgay Demirel.
The Unic League in basketball is the first sport between the two countries to create a common league of this nature. This league is aimed at realising the modern idea of developing competition activities of the two countries' clubs. This league's contestive calendar will develop along with national leagues.
