RRGK condemns lowering sentence on Peter Rudrain, who killed his wife and daughter.

Kosovo Women Network ( S. GK says that with deep concern, he has accepted today's decision by the Gjakova Foundation Court to reduce the sentence to Peter Rudecain, the murder of his wife and daughter in August 2018.

According to them, the 24-and-a-half-year prison sentence pronounced after the retrial against Shblacaj is in complete opposition, in addition to the circumstances of performing the work, as well as the general rules under which the smoothing or harshing of the sentence is envisioned.

Vulnerable murder in the Ndecaj case carries in itself two legal qualifications; the murder of his wife, Valbona Ndjetaj, and the murder of the child (9 year old). For this criminal act, the sentence of life in prison, in concrete cases the circumstances of carrying out this work, such as; the manner of committing murder; and the fact that the victims have been vulnerable has had to influence the rigging of the sentence by imposing a life sentence on the defendants, Rutcaj”, it is said in their response.

The purpose of the sanctions, they say, is to rehabilitate the workers of the work as well as to create public awareness that those performing such works are punished.

“The reduction of the sentence on Rudiaj, not only will it not rehabilitate it, but it will serve as a motive for others to perform similar acts. We strongly believe the prosecution will file complaints and that the Court of Appeals will change this court's sentence to impose maximum sentence on indictees”, the report says.

Former Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu and Parliament Vice President Arberie Nagavci have also reacted in the case.

Through Facebook, they said the Court's decision was scandalous.
