The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers it a failure in domestic governance and foreign policy, 100 days of government work led by Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.

According to the PDK, this government has been characterised with failure to manage pandemic.

This period of governance was marked by failure in the management of pandemic, where Kosovo scored among the highest cases in the world in terms of the number of infected and per capita deaths. Kosovo was placed on the blacklist of trips by our citizens from most countries in the region and European countries.”, the PDK says.

Furthermore, The PDK says promises of 1 billion euros for overcoming the crisis created by the pandemic have remained only on paper.

And this party also has criticism for the dialogue led by Prime Minister Hoti. They say Hoti shared the ownership of Weyman Lake with Serbia.

“From the tribal internal clashes of members of the delegation, it was agreed to divide ownership for Ujman Lake with Serbia; it was allowed to negotiate for Kosovo's national assets and jeopardise the country's strategic interests.”, the PDK says.

This is the complete communique:

The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers it a failure in domestic governance and foreign policy, 100 days of government work led by Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.

This period of governance was marked by failure in the management of pandemic, where Kosovo scored among the highest cases in the world in terms of the number of infected and per capita deaths. Kosovo was placed on the blacklist of trips by our citizens from most countries in the region and European ones.

In addition, Hoti Government failed to help the economy and the citizens of the country by not fulfilling the promises of economic recovery for the future. Thousands of workers are jeopardising their jobs, while hundreds of businesses are close to collapse as a result of the crisis caused by the pandemic and inability of this government. Kosovo citizens are becoming poorer every day and more.

Fund sharing promises of over 1 billion euros for overcoming the crisis have remained on paper by the Hoti Government, which has neither the vizon nor the will to deal with this problem.

In 100 days, the Hoti Government failed in preparations for a time of learning on September 1st, creating great confusion among many parents and teachers. With this approach, this government is jeopardising the future of thousands of Kosovo children, who have been cut off from regular learning for over five months. Even the resumption of learning warned on September 14th is at risk of failing because there is no preparation for instructions on how to act on the conditions of pandemic.

Because of continuing clashes and threats within coalition partners, this government has very low confidence and citizens are being disappointed every day.

Failure in domestic governance was marked by failure in foreign policy last week, where the Kosovo delegation led by Prime Minister Hoti missed the historic chance for reaching an agreement with mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia in Washington.

From the tribal internal clashes of members of the delegation, ownership for Ujman Lake and Serbia was accepted; allowed to negotiate for Kosovo's national assets and the country's strategic interests were jeopardised.

The Hoti government failed to meet citizens' expectations for reaching a final historic agreement by gradually slipping towards technical themes with Serbia.

It is weak, not transparent, and without any legitimate civic support to govern Kosovo.
