COVID-19's pandemic threatens to reverse progress in the health of women and children by a decade, according to a United Nations report released today.
The coronary crisis is worsening existing inequalities, where women and children are more affected by the disruptions of health services”, the UN said, the ATS.
With no more effort to address child deaths, 48 million children under five can die between 2020 and 2030”, the report warns.
Last year, 5.2 million children died for preventable causes before they reached the age of five, and 82 million of those deaths were concentrated in sub - Saharan Africa and South Asia.
