The global gap caused by the COVID-19 virus has caused the world to enter a new normal functioning.
Changes in social structures, social distance, quarantine, masks, and other preventive and combative measures in spreading pandemics caused by the COVID-19 virus have become the subject of experts in various fields, reports news.
The consequences of the Coronavirus, in addition to the health and economic aspect, have been extended to be treated on both the psychological and social plains, and even the damage that this pandemic may have done to education is being studied.
Kosovo is also one of the most hit countries in the region by Coronavirus, and now 6 months of now, there are still measures of combating and preventing COVID-19 whose formalisation is fined by institutions for monitoring law enforcement.
But what can be the social consistencys of this isolation and these measures? Sociologist Jeton Brajshori of news.net has indicated that social consequences are great, and have reflected negatively on children.
According to him, the pandemic has also caused major financial problems and has attacked literal family organization, but it has also contributed to increased family cases.
The social consequences are huge, especially this has reflected greatly on children who are in the development phase, when they're just starting to make friends and come out of the family umbrella. So this association is interrupted with the beginning of the pandemic. Another negative aspect is the time they spend at home using computer equipment and their phones. Also disturbing is the increasing obesity, social networks have made isolation easier, even though it is another way of communicating. And as a result, we have the emotional increase in domestic violence resulting from several reasons. The first is constant closure and contact, and the second, financial problems resulting from pandemic and are the main cause of violence.”, Brajshori said.
Old age groups are more attacked by the COVIID-19 virus distribution and health, but when social consequences come into consideration, then teenagers are categories where the effect has been mostly negative.
Brajshori says biological changes to this age group make them more vulnerable to changes in the order of things as has happened with pandemic, quarantine and social distance.
As far as adolescence is concerned, pandemic has the most negative effect on this category. The biological changes that occur at this age especially among women necessarily require someone's help to express their own problems, which they find more difficult to do with their parents or other family members, usually engage in social discussions where each one tells about their own problems and tries to understand each other. Comforting this category of society is being found on social networks that often know how to be dangerous for them, it's very important that parents take extra care of this because we've seen serious cases, thankfully not in us.”, Brajshori said further.
Asked whether the pandemic will have long consequences or if it is permanent in social organisation, Brajshori says that in Kosovo society, this is unlikely to happen.
According to Brajshori, the most dangerous problem in this regard is the economy, which has affected everyone and it will have to work several years for recovery.
If we talk only about the social aspect, I believe that in us who are a very social people will not have permanent effects, because we've seen the release of measures and cafes are full, so social life is beginning to take itself and continue where it's left but with increased caution. In the pit of pandemic if we look at the movement of the masses we can conclude that the risk to permanent consequences is small. The permanent problem has been the economy that has affected everyone and will take years of recovery, since we are the poorest and most isolated state of Europe, that makes it more difficult, let's not forget that the pandemic has made many major states in the world.”, he said.
Regarding the psycho-Social influence that has had on students online, but also from the aspect of learning and learning, Brajshori says that this has been new to students, but very interesting, and so have expressed interest, but according to him the problem has been with teachers.
He expresses concern over the start of the new school year, where children will be forced into school without parents, which can create difficulties.
“Online learning has been something very good and should be commended for preparing in record time. Children have felt good and interesting for at least some time in online learning, which has somehow made a relationship small but to some extent enough for them. Unfortunately, we have many teachers who haven't been prepared for online instruction, and many children have been lost in this case, so there are many cases of children who haven't had the conditions to have electronics like laptops or computers at home, and unfortunately have been left behind in the beginning because later municipalities and the UN have provided these tools for them. Since parents are not allowed to go to school, preschool children suffer, and the first classes that are very important for them to have a good start - as children are known to need time to adapt to their new environment, and they need to have their parents at first - this will be a big challenge for their children as well.”, Brajshori said.
As far as economic consequences are concerned, field experts have estimated that Kosovo will take years to recover damage caused by pandemic.
