Newly elected ombudsman Naim Qeli in his oath to Kosovo deputies promised to work independently and impartially to advance human rights and freedoms in the country.
Celaj said she will commit to respect on the whole of constitutional principles.
I pledge and solemnly pledge that I will faithfully and independently and impartially carry out the duties and functions entrusted to me by the Constitution and by law. It will protect and advance human rights and freedoms in Kosovo ... respect overall principles and what is defined in the Constitution of Kosovo as the duty of the ombudsman”, he said.
The key to today's session received the votes of 69 deputies, until there will be a five-year term at the helm of this institution.
