Isa Mustafa, chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, says the agreement signed in Washington benefits the entire region as it relates to infrastructure development in Kosovo, Serbia, Albania and other countries.
In an interview in Euronews Albania, Mustafa singled out as two sensitive issues to Weman Lake and Mini-Shengen, not hiding he has been opposed to the latter.
I am satisfied and think that there is an agreement that is of benefit not only to Kosovo, but also to the benefit of this region separately to the countries of the Western Balkans. It is an agreement that contains several points that connect with the direct development of infrastructure connecting Kosovo with Serbia, as well as with Albania with other countries”.
There are some issues that are a little bit more sensitive like the Wyman issue, but that is actually a huge contribution to the United States of America in the feasibility study that should make it related to the use of the waters of this lake, whether it's energy needs or agriculture needs or the issue of mini-sengene, which has been the subject that we have sometimes disagreed with even within the countries of the Western Balkans”
The question of why not a document was signed at the White House, but two different for each country the LDK head said it relates to Israel's recognition of independence and the Wyman issue.
The <x0) non-recognitions have been in Israel recognition because it would, of course, be difficult for Serbia to sign in a document that speaks of recognising Kosovo by the state of Israel. There has also been disappointment on our part that we make a direct agreement with Wyman, Serbia, but that the agreement will be with the United States of America since the United States will make a feasibility study”.
The LDK leader said there has been no change in the document as far as Wyman's case is concerned, thus rejecting the AAK's claims that they have influenced changing the text of the agreement.
“There is a concern of Mr. Haradinaj about Wyman that we should not allow any decision to be made there that questions the use of Ujman or Wyman's belonging, the territorial affiliation of the lake. I told him I would wait, that I am informed. It's just a feasibility study and nothing else. Later these were followed, sometime after lunch by 3 o'clock, information that two AAK ministers have offered their resignation because they disagreed with the agreement. But, as I have reportedly submitted their resignation, I have been informed that Mr. Haradinaj has agreed to the” agreement.
Any movement, as far as I know, has had no movement in terms of the document. There's no way back. What other moves are there after, is it on the basis of communication that Mr. Haradinaj has been behind with United States officials and what has been said, all those conversations I cannot say because I have not asked Mr. Haradinaj, nor have I been informed by others. But of the fundamental importance is that the agreement has been reached, it has been signed in the Oval Office of the White House and that it is a good prospect for us to implement this agreement and it is also a very good symbol that Kosovo has returned to the White House, respectively, at the Oval Office of the United States of America”.
