Vuciq and Hoti will see you again today, but this time in Brussels. Before sitting at the negotiating table, the two leaders have come out with a joint statement published by the EU.
According to this statement, Vuciq's Hoti has pledged that EU-brokered dialogue will continue and that this is the only way to integrate into the Union.
“In the case of continuing EU-backed dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, President Alexander Vuciq and Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti have confirmed to EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security/President of the European Commission Josep Borrell that they have the highest priority of EU integration and continue to work on EU-backed dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which is the key element of their ways to the EU<1>
Last week, Vuciq's Hotie, Washington, has been heard on several issues, and on Friday they signed agreements at the White House, in the presence of US President Donald Trump.
The EU considers Washington agreements could provide a constructive contribution.
“also pledged to double their efforts to ensure further alignment with the EU in line with their respective obligations. In this direction, documents signed in Washington, based on previous commitments related to dialogue the two sides have taken, will be able to offer a useful contribution to reaching a comprehensive, legally binding agreement for normalisation of relations”, the EU-posted communiqué reportedly
As it has been disclosed by US officials, and by Prime Minister Hoti, negotiations on mutual recognition continue in the EU.
