Facebook aims to release intelligent glasses to the public. The glasses, which will be under Ray-Ban's appointment, are scheduled for market in 2021. According to Facebook creator, intelligent glasses will be produced as part of an agreement with Esilor Luxotica, who is a global leader in the design, production and distribution of lens, frames and sunglasses.

“We don't have a product yet to share with you, but I'm excited that we have formed a multi-year partnership with Esilor Luxotica, to enable the presentation of intelligent glasses next year. This is an early step of a project designed to create future glasses that will enhance the view in the real world with data or graphics from the Internet. They'll help people stick together, and these glasses will also have a beautiful view of”, Zuckerberg said.

The technical specialities of intelligent glasses have not been discovered yet. But, Zuckerberg explained that a team trained by Facebook Reality Labs is testing and experimenting with intelligent glasses, keeping them placed inside campus. The new Ray-Ban glasses come as part of the Arya project of the Facebook research centre.

Facebook CEO, theoretically described what we could expect from these glasses.

Imagine how much better it would be to have glasses that would help us with road directions. They could bring us musical recommendations, or glasses that have a visual alarm to help us find the keys or other things we might have lost”, he said.

However, Zuckerberg added, there is still much to make the glasses as classy and sophisticated as possible.
