The first reactions have come from Belgrade following the September 2nd appointment at the White House in Washington between Kosovo and Serbia.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq confirmed that his state will participate in this meeting, and that according to him Serbia is not in a position to reject negotiations.
He added that the topics of discussion at this meeting are related to the economy -- issues according to him very important for Serbia.
However, as Vuciq put it, Serbia will not treat Kosovo as an independent state, either in the US or in the EU.
Kosovo's “comes to negotiations for various reasons. The first is for them to represent themselves as an independent state. We will not treat either Washington or Brussels”, Vuciq said on TV Pink.
As Vucinq added further, Serbia is in a difficult position because for the US, and for most EU states, Kosovo is an independent state.
Otherwise, the US Special Emissary for Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Green, announced today that leaders of these two states will meet on September 2nd at the White House.
