The Arab Olympic State Committee has declared it has launched a dialogue phase with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), to host the major Olympic event.
As it is known, this year's Olympics (Tokio 2020) was postponed for the coming summer, while the 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris and those in Los Angeles in 2028.
Qatar has started hosting several major events recently, including the world of athletics a year ago.
“We are gaining more experience year-on-year in organising major events in sports. We are laying the groundwork for organising an Olympics”, said Sheikh Joan bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, president of Qatar Olympic Committee.
This will be the first time in the history of olympism that an Arab state organises such an event.
