The football team from Gjirokastra, the Warrior, has hired new trainers and he is the Serb from Leskovci, Marko Jovanovic. Earlier, he was an assistant to this club.
The team racing in Albania's second league will be the first experience of 33-year-old Jovanovicic as chief coach.
I have received a call from Gjirokastra, for me a city known at the border with Greece. It's about a club that had an impact on my career as a player. With Mladen Milinkovitch, the Warrior secured the exit to Europe. We played perfectly at that time”, Jovanovic told the Serbian newspaper “Sportski Zhurnal”
In Albania, Jovanovic, except for the Warrior, has played at Kukes and Partizan. In Serbia, he has made a career with Soko Vranje, Dinamo Vranje, Obiliki and New Obiliki.
