What's it like to be with David-19? That's the question people ask those who have proved positive with the new coronary. More than curious, they want to know if their symptoms are similar.
Kosova Prees brings the confessions of three infected persons of different profiles that have already recovered to show their sacrifice from the moment they are told they are positive with COVID and to the moment of recovery.
Muhamet Sjediu, singer, Albena Resiti deputy in the Kosovo Assembly, and Bedri Aslan, operator at the Kosova Prees News Agency, have been affected by the SAR-COV-2 virus in different times, but challenges and fears for their health have been almost similar.
First, they tell of the first symptoms presented to them.
Sejdiu: I was so tired, I had no strength
I've lost my immunity before the music starts. We're home the next day when I'm back, I've noticed I'm not okay. I was so tired, I had no strength... One more day I stayed and noticed that it's the biggest fatigue and I've called Professor Sali Ahmeti and told me about Pristina: ”, began the confession singer Muhamet Sejdiu.
Reshim: At first, I had sluggishness
After the feeling we had here on Friday, I had a slack that I'd never felt and had a headache, and I kind of ignored it as a symptom that I said I probably got tired all day at the session. The next morning, I began to have a very large headache and several fevers and a mild fever. Then I consulted some of my medical friends, and one suggested that I get a visit. Since we concluded that I might be infected I took the test and two days later I got the result that I'm positive”, MP Albena Resiti points out.
Aslan: I felt tired and then fever
That day after work, I went home, I was a little tired, once in the evening I felt a lot of fatigue, got refreshed with a shower and then got caught. Later on, I had a headache at night, I had some very serious symptoms...”, it fell down the early symptoms of Bedri Aslan.
Sejdiu, before diagnosed with COVID-19, had traveled to several countries because of musical evening commitments. After his return to Kosovo, he had symptoms but did not realize that he was infected with coronary, until his condition deteriorated and was forced to appear at the Infectious Clinic.
Sejdiu: At the hospital my condition deteriorated
And I went to the hospital, but I didn't recognize him. Dr. Valbon Krasniqi told me that I'm coming, he came and measured me with oxygen, he said . I took them, started a little easier to breathe, says Sejdiu, who was looking forward to the score for COVID-19, where he and his wife were later told that it was him and his wife were positive.
The AAK MP and the chairman of the Commission for Health, Albena Reshtaj, was among the first deputies to appear in public wearing a mask when Kosovo was still not a hearth of the epidemic. However, Resitaj did not escape this disease. It proved positive with COVID-19.
Reshim said that despite understanding the situation, there were times when there was panic. However, the therapy enabled him to recover for a few days and feel better with the hards.
Reshim: Despite understanding the situation, there are times of panic
It's not a good feeling normally, it first creates a sense of panic, even though we as a person understand the whole situation, it's a situation you can't control in a few moments. I began to think about what symptoms would have been like in the coming days, thinking of all the categories of patients, the asnomptomatic ones, the mild symptoms, and the cases that were going through pneumonia, and how I prepared myself for three types, and how I should act immediately to handle my case. But I got lucky after two days I started to feel better, since I used an immunity-growing therapy, we consulted my friends, my Infectiva professors who wanted to say hello, because although they've been in the big work zone, they've warned me and advised me how to act”, Reshaj relates.
Kosovo Press News Agency Operator Bedri Asllani proved positive with COVID-19, and his biggest fear of the virus affecting his family as well. He himself took the KKUK service for two days, while on the third day after feeling better he's gone for self-isolation at home.
He relates how the disease was shared by children who for a time did not even embrace them.
Aslan: On the third day, I was released from the hospital.
The third day at my request I was released from the hospital, after I saw myself doing much better than the first day and the second. An interesting feeling because even the children approached me, we've seen that three days we couldn't even catch them, two or three days after I was released from the hospital, I tried to avoid them, and an interesting case was when the chica told me that I too had to climb the virus, and I told her why, I wanted to get the virus on me because I couldn't even hug you and your mom, said Aslan.
MP Resitij decided that during the time of self-isolation and recovery, she would not search online about COVID-19. She realized that this was adding to her anxiety, so she decided to return films - a advice that she gives to all in her self - isolation.
Reshim: To turn my mind away from my illness, I was suggested to watch comedy movies
And then there's been a period where I've decided to stop any communication and any information access to COVID, and today I recommend to all those who are infected with COVID-19 and they don't have very serious symptoms because if you start to investigate on the Internet you're panicizing because the virus is more unknown, and if we have had it as an infection, we don't have these unknown symptoms, then we create panic. For a period of time, they suggested that I watch just comedy films and not get any information about pandemic or COVID-19. It is a time for you to focus only on increasing the immunity of the body”, Resiti said.
Singer Muhamet Sejdiu was among the first cases in the country, so he stayed at the Infectious Clinic for two weeks until his recovery. For four days it has been subject to oxygen therapy, and every second day it was tested. After four critical days, however, Sejdiu and his wife recovered.
Sejdiu: Three or four days I got oxygen.
I recovered, three-four days ago, I didn't get oxygen, and one thing I've only had to eat, food brought us out that the family couldn't come from the village because of isolation, nor did the boys ever get out of the house 16 days until we got back to 148x1>, says Sejdiu.
During the period of self - isolation, Bedri Asllani was experiencing poor health concerns and, over the course of days, feeling healthy.
Aslan: During the two weeks of isolation, I've been through easy.
We've been isolated for two weeks, we've had symptoms from time to time but not serious, it started to ease everything, by the end of these weeks, and we felt very good, and we've waited for the news from the Institute that we're healed and we're going on (with normal life)”, follows the account Aslan.
After two weeks of hospitalization, Muhamed and his wife received the good news, having turned negative on both tests for COVID-19.
Sejdiu: When I confirmed the cure was the happiest day of my life
The first negative test came up, it had to be done one more time, it was the longest day of my life, that I got the positive or negative news for the second time. It was a time when other patients started coming and the tests were late... Dr. Valbon gave me the most exciting news of my life. He said, "Jevare and Jevaware came out negative for the second time, you stay here tonight and tomorrow, and tomorrow, at 12:00-12:30 you go home, I sleep all night, my wife slept all night, I went out on the balcony, I watched the car snow and I saw how I parked in front of the Infecties, and I thought you'd never been driving that car again, but I was watching it and I was saying that you were driving back there, and I told Sejdiu.
Despite the first day of April of snow, Sejdiu was the happiest man in the world. He was leaving Infective and returning home to boys he had not met for more than two weeks. Accompanied by Kosovo Police until Gjakova, the singer remembers the moment of meeting with children.
Sejdiu: Great joy to see the boys again
“We (hour) 1200 we're out, the police guarding in the infectious environments, said we should be followed up to Gjakova, me driving after them, it was snowing a lot that day, the ones before the yard door. It was a great joy to meet with the two boys, but I still didn't embrace them, my wife didn't hold on, I went further away, then we went on 10 days in solitary confinement at home and then we went on active”, Sejdiu relates.
After two weeks of positive results, Bedri Aslan was confirmed as healed. After obtaining a permit to go out again, he returned to work while remembering that the good news was that none of his colleagues had been infected with it.
Aslan: Happy that I had not become a cause for infecting colleagues and friends
After a few days of receiving confirmation from the Institute that I am completely cured I returned to normal work, the best of all was that none of my colleagues had been infected by Coronavirus, nor friends and family, except my parents and my wife, had (other) affected”, says Aslan.
After quarantine and confirmation that she has recovered, MP Albena Resitaj also feels better and has returned to work. It wishes that those not affected by COVID will be spared from this disease to the discovery of the vaccine, while there is another appeal for those facing the disease.
Reshim: Those who are infected must remain self-insulated
For those who are not infected, I wish they wouldn't be infected with luck until a vaccine is released and an opportunity for all of us. While those who have been infected and do not have symptoms of self-inflicted over all for their families who may be in danger of being infected and then of others and not be too afraid if they spend the first week without many symptoms not to be too afraid because their organization is affording it, only to use Vitamin C, prescribed by the doctor not to use something that they recommend to their neighbors or anyone else who has been spending COVI-<1>, she says.
When more than four months have passed since he recovered from COVID-19, Muhamet Sejdiu says he is well in health. He does not understand people who do not believe in the existence of this virus as he invites them to go to infection.
As for weddings, they have been cancelled, but Sejdiu does not just wish that all those affected with COVID-19 will recover and better days come.
Sejdiu: Anyone who doesn't believe in the virus, go to infection.
We feel very well that we don't have any problem with God to face this challenge, I'd like to express condolences to all those who have lost loved ones, really not a good situation in Kosovo, there are people who don't believe in the virus, but I had said like everybody that the virus is, there is, and whoever doesn't believe let it go to a mask-free infection, let them visit them. We're continuing our lives, weddings have been cancelled, but it's been written, we're waiting for better days, we appeal for patience, and God needs everyone to be healed, Sejdiu declares.
Otherwise, the total number of positive cases in our country is 11,275 cases out of 43.544 suspected persons in the SARS-CoV-2 virus and 390 cases of death. The total number of cured up to 6,961 cases, while the number of active cases is 3.924.
