US Special Representative for Western Balkans Matthew Palmer, in an interview for the Voice of America, has also talked about the work of the Special Court.
Palmer has said that the United States of America supports the work of the Special Court and has specified that Kosovo should continue co-operation with this institution.
He has yet said that the Special Court will eventually be disbanded after it has fulfilled the mission for which it was created.
“We support the tribunal and think it is important that Kosovo continue co-operation with this tribunal. We hope that these justice institutions manage to fulfill their mission and mandate and eventually break up in the future and justice and the rule of law are in the hands of the institutions of relevant states”, Palmer has said.
In Kosovo, discussions about the Special Court have been reactivated following The Hague Special Prosecutor's announcement of the indictment against President Hashim Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli.
Many have named the prosecution's announcement a political act, since at the moment of publication, Hashim Thaci was traveling towards Washington for a meeting at the White House.
Edi Rama has named him a leafstone, until KLA veterans have warned an initiative not to follow up on special mandate.
