Serie A's 2020-2021 season will not start on September 12th as originally mentioned, but a week later on September 19th.
Officialisation has come from Italian football league, a decision that gives seven more days to Italian championship teams to prepare for the new football edition.
Following numerous discussions between the football league, the Italian federation and the Serie A clubs, it was awarded for the upcoming championship to begin on September 19th.
Some of the largest teams in Apenine such as Juventu, Milan, Lazio and Atalanta wanted the new championship to begin on September 12th after national matches, but the common language was found on September 19th.
