The head of the LSDM, once again mandated for prime minister, Zoran Zaev handed over the new government proposal, whose priority, as he warned, will be the fight against crime and corruption, the cleanup of the judiciary, economy, health, education, living environment, neighbourly relations and EU membership. It expects the new government from next week to start working for, as stressed, the country's Europeanisation.
I expect from Chief Parliamentary Talat Xhaferi to give MPs sufficient time to report on the proposed programme and biographies of the proposed candidates. We expect quality debate in the Assembly and expect the proposals to get the necessary majority, following what next week Northern Macedonia and citizens will have the new government dedicated to implementing the” programme, Zoran Zaev, mandated for prime minister.
The parliamentary session for the new government's vote is scheduled for Saturday, while the debate in the Assembly could last more than two days. Government coalition partners, LSDM and coalition “can be”, DUI and DPA have agreed that the new government will lead Zaev for a four-year term, while in the last 100, the executive leader will propose DUI. In contrast to the previous government with 26 ministers, the new government will have 19 ministers. 11 ministers will have LSDM, 6 DUI, and 1 Minister Besa Movement and the Liberal-Democratic Party. Mandatar, Zaev also said coalition partners have already agreed on about 90% of future deputy ministers.
Future MPs have already resigned from their position in the legislature, and other MPs took over from the candidate lists in the election.
Under legal provisions, with the mandate proposal and on the basis of the programme, the Government elects the Assembly by the vote of most MPs in the Assembly. The LSDM-led coalition, DUI and DPA have a total of 62 deputies.
