Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been evacuated from the Siberian town of Omsk and has headed towards Germany for medical treatment.
A test plane of the German nongovernmental organisation, Cinema For Peace, has sent Navlan from Omsk to Berlin, where Navalny ʹ allegedly poisoned will receive medical treatment.
The difficulties for Alexei's life and his health have just begun, but it's already taken its first step”, spoke on Twitter, spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh.
Yarmysh has published a photo of Navajo as he sets up on a stretcher with his wife.
Navalny has been in a coma since he became sick of poisoning allegations on August 20th. When he got sick, he was flying from the Siberian city of Tomsk to Moscow. The plane he traveled with was then forced to make an emergency landing in Omsk, also in Siberia.
The Navajo family and his allies have struggled to transfer him to Germany for medical treatment, but Russian doctors, who were treating him, for hours refused to leave the hospital in Omsk, arguing that his health was not good for him to travel.
But, on 21 August, the senior hospital official at Omsk, Anatoly Kalinichenko, told reporters that Navlanny could be transferred to Germany, as his condition has stabilised.
Navalny's wife, earlier urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to allow her husband to be transferred to Germany for urgent medical treatment.
“Zertarly I call on you (Putin) to allow the transport of Navalny to Germany”, Yulia Navalnaya said on 21 August.
Initially, the Kremlin stated that the decision not to allow the transfer of Navajo to Germany was entirely due to health causes. But Navajo supporters argued that Russian authorities are willing to buy out time so that traces of poison can no longer be found in the body of the opposition leader, at the time he is transferred abroad.
After Navalny was allowed to travel to Germany, the German government said his life must be saved.
The main priority is for Mr. Navalley's life to be saved and he heals”, said government spokesman Stephen Seibert.
There is still no correct diagnosis of the Navajo situation, but his team suspected he was poisoned because of his activities.
Jarmych believes the opposition politician was poisoned, as in the tea he bought at Tomsk Airport, something was thrown in.
But, the hospital director at Omsk, Aleksandr Murakhovsky, has told reporters that the Navajo situation may have been caused because of disorders dealing with metabolism.
“We worked on some diagnosis today. The key is... metabolic disorder”, Murakhovky said, adding that the Navalny situation could be “caused by the drop in blood sugar level”.
These comments, Murakhovsky, had first made spokeswoman Yarmysch, quoted a Navalny associate, Ivan Jodanov, as saying that “one policeman who was in the hospital, said that poison has been found in Alexei's body, which is not only dangerous for him, but for everyone around him”.
The European Union has called for the immediate launch of investigations into the state of Navajo, which shortly after being ill, fell into a coma.
“We are very concerned about Alexei Navally's health after the alleged poisoning”, EU spokeswoman Nabila Massrley said on August 21st.
“We expect a quick, independent and transparent investigation. If it is confirmed that it is poisoned, the responsible must be brought to justice”, she said.
The White House's National Security Adviser, Robert O'Brien, declared on August 20th that it was “deeply concerned” over the situation with Navlan, adding that it could affect US-Russia relations.
He's a very brave man. He is a brave politician who, within Russia, has stood up against Putin. It's extremely disturbing, and if the Russians stay behind this... it's something we'll be aware of in the way we're going to deal with Russia in the future”, O'Brien said.
Navalny, the clean one has exposed corrupt relatives in Russia, and in the past it has been a target of physical assault.
In 2017 he was attacked with a chemical that had been spotted.
In July 2019, Navajo was sentenced to 30 days ' imprisonment because of the organization of unauthorized protests. During his stay in prison, he was sometimes sent to the hospital because of some swollen faces, later claimed to have symptoms of poisoning.
In recent years, he has been arrested several times, banned from competing for president as well as for mayor of the city of Moscow.
The head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation's legal department, which Navalny founded, Vyacheslav Gimadi, has written on Twitter that “has no doubt that Navally was poisoned because of his political activity and position”. / REL
