Joseph Chovanec was arrested at Charleroi Airport in 2018 after causing concern during his flight.
As he was being arrested, he began beating the wall with his head in his cell to the point of bleeding. A group of policemen are later seen putting him on the ground, writes BBC, translates Periscope.
Chovanec was taken to the hospital, but he fell into a coma and died immediately the next day.
Images from the cell show some officers laughing during the incident, while one of them gave the Nazi salute. Another was filmed sitting on Chovanec's body for 18 minutes.
His death has drawn parallels with the case of George Floyd, who died in May after a policeman had laid his knee above his neck during the U.S. arrest.
“I want to know what happened and why (the police) were acting that way,” said his wife, Henrietta.
Before he died, Chovanec had been the owner of a construction company that recruited Slovak workers for construction projects in Belgium.
His family had said that he did not know the reason for his conduct during his police stay, and his autopsy revealed that he had not been under the influence of drugs and alcohol. /Periscopi
