Kosovars unhappy with banks, hundreds of complaints handed over during pandemic

A total of 755 complaints by Kosovo's consumers to commercial banks in the country have gone to the address of the Central Bank of Kosovo, only from January this year until now. These complaints are directly related to some violations of the rules or measures imposed by the central level for commercial banks against consumers in pandemic times. [...]
“During this year's Central Bank, the Ankes Division, respectively, has reviewed 755 complaints against the Commercial Banks”, said by the CEC.
The Economic Bulletin learns that a large number of complaints made to commercial banks in the country are related to failing to comply with government measures by banks for the suspension of interest in customers.
However, in questions about the punishment of these banks, the CEC has not given any specific data about how many banks have so far been declared fines for wrongdoings committed, nor the value of fines pronounced.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, based on legislation in effect, addresses violations recorded in both banks and other financial institutions that license, regulate and supervise. Depending on the weight of wrongdoing, sensitivity, influence in the sector, etc., administrative penal measures must be taken from”, it was the BQC response.
