Kamenica Deputy Mayor Faton Jakupi has announced that following information that the Serbian Gendarmerie has entered the village of Karacheva in Kamenica, he has contacted KFOR, who are told they had joint KFOR, US, Turk and Serbian patrols.
He has written on Facebook why he has allowed Serbian gendarmerie to be introduced into this part of Kosovo territory yet to receive no answers from KFOR.
After obtaining information that Serbian Gendarmerie enters the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, I immediately contacted KFOR, namely the East LMT, and was informed that today, by the date 07.08.20, they had joint KFOR, Turkish and Serbian patrols. But why has the Serbian gendarmerie been allowed to enter this part of Kosovo territory yet I have not received answers from KFOR. These patrols are disturbing even if they're in common. From what was seen today, I requested an urgent meeting with KFOR to discuss and demanded that these events not be repeated again”, he wrote.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, Hysni Gucati, has reacted by saying it is a great shame that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo do not react and take no action with what happened where the Serbian gendarmerie has entered Kosovo territory in the village of Karacheva in Kamenica.
“As if they hadn't seen anything and hadn't happened, should Kosovo Parliamentary Army veterans again defend the state of Kosovo while the Government is silent and is unable to do anything and leave something more, we appeal to the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that such cases do not repeat, KLA veterans have not fought to see Serbian Gendarmerie enter Kosovo territory as often as possible, shame for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for not reacting and taking any action<1> he wrote on Facebook.
