- Mitrovica municipality names the late baby Elizabeth Hasani on the memorial plaque dedicated to market massacre •
Mayor Agim Bahtiri, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Faruk Mujka, along with Kosovo Parliamentary MP Albert Kinoli from the United Roma Party of Kosovo, has today made the discovery of the name of the late little girl, Elizabeth Hasani from the Roma community, whose name has been placed on the memorial plaque dedicated to victims of the March 13th 1999 massacre in the Mitrovica market.
After the establishment of fresh flowers from Mayor Bahtiri, in honour of the victims fallen into that massacre, he said that the involvement of the late baby Elizabeth has taken place by accident and without any bad intentions, but only as a consequence of lack of information.
Also, Chairman Bahtiri stressed that he has kept his promise to MP Kinoll for the proper research of this case, and after receiving precise information, the municipality has placed Elizabeth's name on the memorial plaque dedicated to the victims of the market massacre, who have suffered tragic loss of life from Serb criminals.
MP Albert Kinoll, meanwhile, said he feels satisfied that, along with Chairman Bahtiri and Deputy Chairman Mujka, he has kept his promise of the establishment of Elizabeth Hasani's name, thanks to the contribution and commitment of the Mitrovica municipality's leaders.
“This proves that Kosovo society is open and democratic, makes no difference either in the victim, because victims should be treated fairly and equally, because the victim knows neither race, color, community, nor political parties. And we have witnessed this today with Chairman Bahtiri, where I am happy that justice has come to its place, I hope that even the handouts will always be brought to justice and receive their due sentence”, Deputy Kinoll said among other things.
