Just in order to prevent the spread of this virus, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci had decided on March 14th to postpone the date of extraordinary elections for the mayor of the Podujevo municipality, which would be held the following day, March 15th. The ruling in question had come after the CEC's request for the postponement of these elections, because on the same day, The IKPK had recommended suspending these elections in order to prevent spread of pandemic.
President Thaci's decision to postpone these elections has been submitted to the Constitutional Court by the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement, who have sought to assess the constitutionality of this decision.

According to IKKPK's latest data, the number of dead persons has reached 97, meanwhile, the number of active cases infected with COVID-19 is 2,259 cases. In the last 24 hours, out of 205 new cases only from the Podujevo municipality are 13 cases.
