This happened to a couple of Swiss tourists aged 20 and 22. The young, carried by the current, tried to swim back to shore, but the wind blowing made their efforts futile.
So they shouted and tried to attract the attention of swimmers, who after a few minutes noticed the couple and called for help. Now both young people are fine. The swimmers immediately announced the coast guard who set sail toward them and pulled the mattress to the shore. But the situation was really dangerous.
A bad adventure well ended, said Maurizio Scardia of fast aid, who added that because of the distractions and non-recognition of the sea, which in windy days can push mattresses, the youth's ordeal could have been even more severe.
