Liverpool's former coach, Roy Hodgson, had sold a footballer by mistake during his time in Liverpool.

The 72-year-old coach has enjoyed a long career and with some successes, yet his period in Anfield was disappointing to fans.

He managed to stay in Anfield neither for a full season, after leaving with reconciliation both sides when the club was ranked only four points from the danger zone to fall from the league.

When Hodgson had transferred Paul Conchesky from Fulham, Liverpool had reached agreement on his exchange with Lauri Dalla Vale and Alexander Kacaniclic.

However, Swedish Kacannikic later discovered that Hodgson had wanted to send another player known as “Alex”, but when he realized what had happened, it was too late.
