Prizren, Ferizaj and Podujevo unhappy with the number of tests, in Pristina complain of delays in results

The country's municipalities are complaining about the low number of tests being conducted in recent weeks. Despite increasing the number of cases, they say only those with symptoms are continuing to be tested. The complaint also has about the delays in results, which they say are reaching in the next 2-3 days.

In the Kosovo capital, where there are currently about 750 active cases with COVID-19, 100 people have been tested today.

Pristina Health Director Bujar Gashi has told Gazeta Express that the number of tests conducted during one day in the capital ranges between 50 and 100, until the results of these tests say they sometimes have to wait up to 72 hours.

Some 100 people have been tested today. The star number of those tested in one day behaves from 50 to 100. The results come depending on IKSHP's priorities and on the cargo from 24 to 72 hours. We currently have 742 active cases”, Gashi told Express.

The complaint about the number of tests also has the family members of the infected, contact cases, and white robes.

Ferizaj Mayor Agim Aliu has told Express that there is a need for more tests in this municipality. He has also shown how a doctor in the Stockholm Department has proved positive and that if his colleagues are not tested, they will be forced to shut down the entire department.

I still don't have the correct figure today, but it's taken around 10. He needs more tests because we have too many demands. The demands are from the families of the infected, contact cases, and white clothing, since a number of them have resulted in positive results. For example, a doctor at the Stamatology Department has proved positive and he has had contact with other colleagues”, Aliu said.

According to him, the average number of tests that are conducted during one day in this city amounted to about 30.

If they are not tested, the whole department should be closed. The average number of tests being conducted over a day in Ferizaj is 2030. Yes, we have delays even in results, at least two days. We have 115 active cases, 10 of them pretending to be at Ferizaj Regional Hospital, Ali told the Express.

For the number of tests and delays in results, there is disappointment in Prizren as well.

Deputy Mayor Wisar Shehu has told Gazette Express that very few people are being tested. According to Shehu, 1012 people are tested during one day in Prizren.

And to get the results of those tested says they have to wait at least two days.

“in Prizren is becoming a very small number of tests. On average a day, 10 to 12 tests are being conducted, which is a very small number. The number of samples taken today for testing I don't know. We currently have 100 active cases in Prizren, with seven cases last night. The delay in results is still under way, but now it's two or three days -- 18x1>, Shehu declared.

More tests are taking Podujevo. Specialist Bedrie Rama, who is part of the Emergency Staff in this municipality, says more tests would have to be done now when there is increasing number of cases.

Rama says the highest number of tests that were conducted during a day in Podujevo this month has been 35.

In the last few weeks there were more tests, since there are more cases. We because of increased cases have asked that tests be conducted in Podujevo, since in Pristina they were not taken into account. Most of the tests that were conducted during one day this month were 35”, she relates.

And unlike Prizren's Ferizaj, Podujevo is not delaying the results. Rama says that in most cases, the results are accepting them within the day.

We have 24 active cases in Podujevo, one of which is in a slightly more serious state. We're late for the results. It may happen that within the day we are getting results or further away the next day”, Rama said.

Otherwise, yesterday at the IKSHPK Mactic Microbiology lab with the RT- The PCR, a total of 429 samples taken from the Infectious Clinic and tracking into field contact have resulted in positive 195 results.
