Everts in an interview for Kosovo Radio Television has indicated that the effort to draw what Serbia has done with some revenge actions by Albanians is wrong.
“Masakrat, the violence that has dominated this war, is turning us back and hundreds of years ago in the violence between Serbs and Albanians. I have no doubt that violence was at the expense of Albanians. They're the victims. During the war and prior to the war, there has been a lot of violence exercised against Kosovo Albanians. We know the role of Arkan. And we also know how many people have died that they've been tortured and that there's been mass violation by Serbs, there's no denial here. On the other hand, there have been revenge actions on the part of Albanians, but there is no equality”.
The former head of the Organisation for Co-operation and Security Mission in Europe that served in Kosovo, during 1999-2001, had criticism of the Special Court's approach in report with President Hashim Thaci and the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veselin.
Everts stressed that Serbia and Russia seem to be doing their job in the context of the effort to rewrite history.
